This year has been quite a year for me and the husband. We bought our first home, had to fix a bunch of stuff in our home, and celebrated one year of marriage. Okay, so mostly the year revolved around our new-to-us home. It is a 1950s farmhouse, and it did come with it’s fair share of issues that we are still trying to conquer. For example, we just noticed a droop in the floor where we need to put in a pier and our water pump blew a month ago so we constantly run out of water. On a side note, having public water hooked up costs a small fortune. Call us crazy but these projects and necessary fixes are actually fun for us. You can catch us working on the house every chance we get. We have a list of things we need and want, and it grows longer and longer day-by-day. It seems like we aren’t the only ones though.

This year more people are taking home improvement more seriously. Maybe it’s because more and more people are choosing to stay in their current homes due to the economy.
